As a supporter who has lost respect, I am deeply disappointed by the behavior of Wendy Williams. News flash, #WendyWilliams: a career marred by invasiveness, drug addiction, health issues, or old age does not grant you a license to label hard-working professionals as stupid simply because you may be experiencing an end-of-career crisis or unhappiness. The dialogue exhibited in the documentary between yourself and others is the epitome of verbal abuse. It is truly disheartening that you, along with other executive producers, would consider it a great marketing strategy to showcase behind-the-scenes interactions that reveal such disrespectful behavior. Lifetime may indeed be your friend, but even critics had mixed reviews about your life's biopic.
How can America care or buy into your 'Where is Wendy' updates when disrespect appears to be your chosen currency? The show seems more like a sell-out from an industry where your sole aspiration was to attain fame. Kudos for your achievements thus far and beyond. However, you are no longer seated in that pink chair in people’s living rooms, and if this is truly who you are now, especially after a near-death health controversy, one can only imagine how you conducted yourself in the prime of your career, Ms. Williams.
Throughout the time I endured watching the new documentary, her son's support of her journey towards betterment stood out, hands down. However, not once in Episode 1 did she mention or allude to God. While this does not definitively prove that Wendy lacks a spiritual connection to God, it does raise questions about her acknowledgment or expression of unwavering faith. Could a relationship with God be the remedy for Wendy's journey of healing and transformation?
One thing about Whitney Houston, despite her struggles, she maintained a connection with God, and His grace kept her looking good. Wendy's appearance seems to be deteriorating. While none of us know the final destination, it's evident that Wendy has a loving family who won't give up on her. However, if Wendy gives up on herself, it would truly be a nightmare before Christmas.
